Dino prepared the right way. He trained, he dieted and he listened, and it paid off with a stoppage win in round 2 of his N-Class debut against White. An amazing result and a proud night for the whole gym.

Leo Prodromou-Beckwith's first fight ended in a round 2 TKO defeat, but he showed heart and carried on through adversity. That is what Warrior Spirit is about, and we are proud of him.

Muay Thai changes more than your fitness. People walk in to lose weight or learn to defend themselves, and stay for how it makes them feel.

Standing your ground, taking a hard round and still going builds a quiet confidence that follows you to work, school and everywhere else. Knowing you can look after yourself changes how you carry yourself.

Rounds on pads and bags work your heart, lungs, legs and core all at once. You build real strength, stamina and flexibility, burn serious calories, and never get bored doing it.

When the bell goes, it's you in there. But nobody gets there alone. Your training partners hold your pads, push you through the last round and are in your corner on fight night.

You can't think about work while someone is throwing a kick at you. An hour on the mat clears your head, burns off stress and builds the discipline to keep showing up.
Some people join for fitness and a good crowd. Some want to get in the ring. We coach both, side by side, and each gets what they came for.
Fighters sharpen their skills holding pads for newer members. Fitness members train next to people preparing for fights, and push harder because of it. That mix is what makes the gym.

Boxing gives you two weapons. Muay Thai gives you eight, and every one of them works your whole body.

Our coaches take every level, from complete beginners to fighters in camp. Start where you are; we'll take it from there.

Stance, footwork, punches, kicks and the teep, taught from zero. No sparring, no pressure. Bring a friend.

Partner pad rounds that build real power and fitness. The hardest-working hour of your week.

Four people who train, coach and turn up for every member, whether you're here for fitness or for fight night.
Warrior Spirit started life as Hoddesdon Muay Thai & K1 Kickboxing, Jay’s club on the top floor of Animal Gym in Hoddesdon. That’s where the team, the fighters and the way we train were built.
When the club moved to Potters Bar it took a new name, Warrior Spirit, and took over our friends’ gym, WMT Muay Thai, along the way. Same coaches, same fighters, same way of training. If you knew us in Hoddesdon you’ll see plenty of familiar faces, and plenty of old Hoddesdon shorts on fight night.

18+ years teaching. 3rd Dan black belt.
James “Jay” Shepherd has been teaching kickboxing for over 18 years and holds a 3rd Dan black belt. He coaches people of every age, from seven-year-olds at their first class to adults getting fit and fighters getting ready for the ring.
He leads the fight team and runs fight camps, building each camp backwards from the fight date. His fighters have competed at amateur and semi-pro level, and he has taken kids to around a hundred interclubs, so he knows how to bring a nervous first-timer through their first bout as well as how to sharpen an experienced fighter.
In the gym he's the one holding the pads, watching your feet and telling you the one thing that will make the next round better. On fight night he's in the corner.
Ask Jay about your first interclub, fight camp, or getting your child started.

Steve trains members, still competes himself, and keeps people on track outside the gym too, with motivation, check-ins and practical nutrition tips.
He looks after the gym’s marketing, from this website to the videos and fight-night posts on social media. If you see Warrior Spirit online, Steve is usually behind it.
Whether your goal is losing weight, getting fit or making weight for a fight, Steve helps you plan the food and habits that go with your training.
Ask Steve about nutrition, staying motivated, or fight-night photos and videos.
Beginners and fighters get the same attention. Nobody is left in the corner on their own.
Sparring is controlled and only when you're ready. Technique before power.
We'll tell you what you're doing well and the one thing to fix next.

Fight results, training tips, nutrition and videos from the team.

A proud day for the team. Our young fighters stepped through the ropes, put the work from camp into practice, and came home with medals.
Every one of them earned it on the pads and in sparring in the weeks before. Thanks to the families who came to support, and to the coaches in the corner all day.
Add fighter names and results
Behind the scenes before the fights: getting sharp on the pads so the first round isn't the warm-up.

Wraps support the small bones in your hands and your wrist. Here's why they matter in every session, not just fight night.
Wrap firmly, but not so tight you lose feeling. Cover the wrist, the back of the hand and between the knuckles. Your coach will show you the method we use, so ask at your first class.

One minute between rounds. What the corner says, and why fighters train to listen.
Breathe, drink, one or two clear instructions, then back out. Those sixty seconds can turn a fight, and we practise them in camp so they're second nature on the night.

No fad diets. Just the basics that keep you training hard and recovering well.
1. Eat a proper meal two to three hours before training. 2. Drink water through the day, not just in class. 3. Get some protein in every meal. 4. Plan food for busy days so you're not grabbing rubbish. 5. Sleep counts as much as food.

That moment when camp pays off. Steve gets his hand raised at Warriors League.

Confidence, discipline and fitness for 7 to 13 year olds. Fun, safe, properly coached Muay Thai, Monday to Thursday at 5:30pm.
Kids learn real Muay Thai technique: stance, footwork, punches, kicks, knees and defence, taught in a way that keeps them moving and having fun.
Along the way they build things that matter outside the gym too: confidence, focus, respect for others and the habit of working hard at something.

Looking for kickboxing? Muay Thai is kickboxing with everything included: punches and kicks, plus knees, elbows and the clinch.
Most kickboxing styles use punches and kicks. Muay Thai, from Thailand, adds knees, elbows and clinch work, which is why it’s called the art of eight limbs.
In our classes you learn proper kickboxing technique first, then build in the extra Muay Thai weapons as you go. Many members never fight and just love the workout.
You don’t need any experience or fitness to start. Thursday’s 7pm class is built for beginners, and sparring is always your choice.

The hardest-working hour of your week, and the most fun. Pad rounds, bag work and conditioning that get you fit without ever needing to fight.
Muay Thai works your whole body at once: legs, core, shoulders, heart and lungs. Rounds of work and rest push your fitness in a way a treadmill never will.
Because you’re learning a skill, it never gets boring. You’re too busy thinking about the next combination to watch the clock.
Every round can be as hard as you make it. Complete beginners and fighters train side by side, each working at their own level.
Want help with food and habits too? Steve shares practical nutrition tips to go with your training.
It’s a demanding full-body workout, and combined with sensible eating it’s a great way to lose weight.

Muay Thai is one of the most popular martial arts for women, for fitness, confidence and knowing you can look after yourself.
Our classes are mixed, friendly and closely coached. You’ll be paired with partners who suit your size and experience, and nobody is thrown in at the deep end.
Many women start for fitness and stay for the confidence it builds. Some go on to compete; most don’t, and both are welcome.
If walking into a class feels like a big step, book a 1-to-1 session first to learn the basics, then join the group knowing what you’re doing.
Confirm whether you run women-only sessions
Coaches pair people sensibly by size and experience, and you can always ask to work with someone specific.
Muay Thai is a tested striking art. Regular training builds the skills, fitness and calm under pressure that make you harder to target.
You learn to strike properly, protect yourself, deal with someone grabbing you in the clinch, and keep your head when things get intense, all practised against a resisting partner.
Just as important, the confidence you build changes how you carry yourself day to day.
We teach a martial art, not a quick-fix course. The best self-defence is awareness and avoiding trouble; training gives you the skills and composure if you ever need them.
It teaches effective striking, clinch work and composure under pressure, practised safely with a partner.
Basic skills come within weeks; confidence grows with regular training.
